Curriculum

Learning with Purpose. Growing Through Play.

At Sonshine School, we believe childhood is meant to be filled with wonder, exploration, and joyful discovery. Our comprehensive, school-developed curriculum has been thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of our students while providing meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Rooted in applicable state early learning standards and guided by current research on early childhood education, our curriculum embraces the understanding that young children learn best through intentional, play-based experiences. Every activity has a purpose—even when it simply feels like fun.

Intentional Learning Through Play.

Play is the foundation of learning at Sonshine School. Through hands-on exploration, children naturally build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills while developing confidence and independence.

Our teachers thoughtfully create learning experiences that encourage children to:

  • Explore and ask questions

  • Create and imagine

  • Build friendships and social skills

  • Practice language and communication

  • Develop early math and literacy concepts

  • Strengthen fine and gross motor skills

  • Grow emotionally, spiritually, and academically

Rather than relying on worksheets, we believe children learn best by actively engaging with the world around them through meaningful play.

Growing in Faith Every Day

Faith is woven naturally into each day at Sonshine School. Through daily chapel, Bible stories, worship, prayer, and meaningful conversations, children learn about God's love.

In partnership with our Assistant Director of Spiritual Development, students participate in age-appropriate Bible enrichment that encourages both spiritual growth and strong character. Our desire is for every child to know they are deeply loved by God and to carry that love into their relationships with others.
